5 Seconds Of Summer has been one of my all-time favorite bands for the past 5 years. This was my fourth time seeing them live, and they get better and better every time! 

 They opened the show with "Babylon", which is a bonus track on the deluxe edition of their new album, "Youngblood". This is one of the best songs on the album, and I know it's also a fan-favorite, so this was a great choice of a song to come out to.

The set list was the perfect mix of their older songs and songs from their new album. They actually played more of their older songs than I thought they would, but they did leave out some of my favorites like, "Good Girls", "Heartbreak Girl", and "Permanent Vacation". I loved the energy in the venue when they played their classics like;  "She's Kinda Hot", "Girls Talk Boys", "Waste The Night", "Amnesia", and of course, "She Looks So Perfect". They also played "Jet Black Heart", which is one of my favorites to hear live. I love how after all these years, everyone still knew all of the words to those songs - that made me so happy!

 Their newest album has more of a mature sound than their last 2 albums, but it still sounds very true to who they always were as a band. Songs like "Talk Fast" and "If Walls Could Talk" remind me a lot of their older music, while also being current with their newer sound. The Meet You There Tour has by far the most extravagant stage design out of their other tours. It actually reminds me a lot of The 1975's stage for their tours with all of the neon lights. The colors of the neon lights changed with every song to fit the aesthetic of the sound.  







They are always so energetic and interactive with the crowd for every show. The crowd has the same energy, singing along to every word of every song, which adds so much to my overall experience when the people around you are enjoying the show as much as I am. 


The encore was "She Looks So Perfect" & "Youngblood", which was the perfect way to end the show!

It's hard to say what my favorite moments of the night were, because I really did love every song they played. Everything about the show was truly incredible!

I love getting to see them grow with each album they release and every performance they do. I can't wait to see what they do in the future! If you've never seen 5SOS live before, I highly recommend it - you won't be disappointed!

"Denial Is A River" by Doechii // Song Review

Doechii 's "Denial Is A River" is a sharply written story of her deeply personal struggles she has faced throughout her life, especially over the past few years. All while doing so, she also incorporates so much of her signature humor within it too. "California" by Joni Mitchell // Song Review

Joni Mitchell wrote "California" all over the world, each verse was written in a different country and vividly depicts both the physical and emotional place she was at in those moments. From France, to Spain, to Greece, she writes a travelogue of her time in each country, but continuously wishes she were home in California instead. "Sitting in a park in Paris, France, reading the news and it sure looks bad," Joni sings in the opening lines of the song. "They won't give peace a chance, that was just a dream some of us had".
